Schütz St. Matthew Passion
Mercy will appear as one of the soprano soloists in this rarely performed work, the Schütz St. Matthew Passion.
This beautiful work predates Bach’s settings of the passions and, in many ways, is their direct predecessor. Scored for a small vocal ensemble, this Passion performance will feature the Bach+ Vocal Consort and members of the Annapolis Chorale Chamber Chorus. Artistic Director J. Ernest Green and Bach+ Director, Larry Molinaro will lead The “St. Matthew Passion.”
** This is a program change from the Bach “St. Matthew Passion” that was originally programmed for this spring. Bach’s work will be rescheduled for later in the summer as the current COVID restrictions ease.
Handel's Messiah
This work is one of the best loved and most often performed in the repertoire, being performed continuously since it was written in 1741! So how do we perform this massive work in the time of COVID-19? We re-imagine the work and how we present it.

Kiss Me Kate
With Cole Porter’s signature wit and catchy tunes, Kiss Me, Kate has been a hit on Broadway and on film. Written by Samuel and Bella Spewack, life imitates art in this story of the volatile relationships within an acting company performing William Shakespeares’s Taming of the Shrew. Stars Fred and Lili (and their Shakespearian alter egos Petruchio and Katharine) battle it out in the name of love and independence. This musical includes such memorable songs as Why Can’t You Behave, Another Op’nin’ Another Show, So in Love and Brush Up Your Shakespeare, just to name a few! Broadway in Annapolis productions are all about the music so you’ll see and hear the Annapolis Chorale and Annapolis Chamber Orchestra as well as a super cast of talented actors.
